A .vl2 file is simply just a .zip file with the File Extention changed from .zip to .vl2. Making a zip/vl2 can be confusing at first so try this.
1) Make a new Folder on your deskTop (call it "MyBase" to keep it simple)
2) Inside the MyBase Folder make some more folders:
missions
terrains
interiors (if you are using custom made interiors)
textures(if you are using custom made textures)
There are more folders that you can add, but lets keep it real simple for now.
3) Ok now copy and paste your mission file from the Tribes2/Gamedata/Base/Mission folder to your new mission folder inside your new Mybase folder.
Copy and paste the .spn (spawn) .nav(if you have bots), .ter (if you made a custom terrain) to your new terrains folder.
4) OK in your MyBase Folder select all the folders (missions and terrain folders only for now) (they should all turn highlighted blue) and right click on one of them and select "send to" then "compressed zip folder" and walla you have made a .zip file. Now just rename the new .zip file to the name of your map with .vl2 instead of .zip and you are done (example Mapname.vl2).
Taking screen shots can be done by pressing "PrntScrn" Button on your keyboard then open paint program and select edit and paste. Or you can get professional by downloading "Halshot" from the Tools section of this website.
By the way the map that you made should be in the
C:/Dynamix/Tribes2/Gamedata/Base/Missions folder.Statistics: Posted by Lagg_Alot — Fri May 14, 2004 10:07 pm
