I am going to make a series of maps with LotR themes. Do NOT steal my ideas.
A few names I have so far:
Mordor, Land of Shadow
Khazad-dûm
Please do not steal my ideas. If anyone is willing to contribute to this project, I would be grateful. Pictures (like the Balrog, Moria orcs, etc.) or whatever. A map of Mordor would be nice...so I know where to put Orodruin.
P.S. If the above made no sense to you, please ignore this thread.

OK cool. And I found the map of Mordor on the inside cover of one of the books. And Orodruin (aka Mount Doom) is on there.

I've been trying to make a LotR map for a quite a while. My idea was to make a Gates of Mordor seige map. The attackers start at Mount Doom, and have to assault Sauron's Tower (forgot the name). The tower is guarded by a giant gate (very, very large). I got pretty far in it, but for some reason it didn't save it and all was lost. Maybe I'll go back eventually.

hehehe...I have already done that...sorry...I had the idea a long time ago...and I am working on three other LOTR themed maps...my three that are released all have LOTR names and themes...don't be upset.

well lets not forget the back way inthrowugh the spiders lair that frodo used for entering mordor unnoticed.
if the central mountain was large enough I could enclose one of the recalesence bases in it and put lava at the bottom of the base
particle emitter at the crest of the mountain
almost black very thick fog up high with lots of ambient light will give a real shadowy murky feel
you could spawn the attacking team on opposite sides?
there are plenty of little things about mordor proper that could be added into the terrain and such that would deffinately bring the final battle to mind. Just gotta use the old imagination and back it up with the time it takes to bring it together.
Personally if I were you I would read the silmarilion first. The actual battle for the silmarillions will give you some really great ideas.
