Simgroups

well i have been messing around with the editor and i am getting a feel for it , (im only 15 so dont expect me to know too much) but i dont get the simgroups thing. could someone please tell me word for word what i have to do to make stuff in the right simgroups or make different simgroups? do i have to type in a simgroup for every object i make ? or do i make 2 simgroups , one for each team, then just choose the simgroup and place objects while its highlighted or something, im clueless, please help, or i will waste more and more hours in the editor without getting anything done

Simgroups can be seen as containers for various organizational and fucntional purposes.

For example, you may want to put all organics (trees, bushes, etc) or audio emitters (cricket sounds, wind sounds, etc) in a single simgroup.

Functionally, if you want a building or an inventory unit to have power, you must have a generator or solar panel in the same simgroup with them.

If you start a new map from a Dynamix map or if you use Missionblank.mis, you will notice pre-existing simgroups in the tree menu.

You may also create new simgroups from the creator menu.

1. Creating a New SimGroup

Tick the creator menu. Find simgroup under Mission, I believe. Not sure though, as I'm away from the game right now. Click simgroup like you would click any other object to create it. The new, unnamed simgroup will appear in your tree. Tick tree to view and manipulate your simgroups.

2. "Making stuff in the right simgroup"

A. Alt + Left Click the Simgoup into which you would like to place objects. Each object you create when this particular simgroup is alt+L Click selected will be created in that simgroup.

B. If you create an object in one simgroup, and you would rather it be in another simgroup, do the following:

Alt + Left Click the simgroup into which you want to move the object(s). Left Click on the object(s) you want to move to select them. Hit Ctrl + M to move the objects into the selected Simgroup.

thanks for replying, the only thing is, for the mission blank , i cant get the terra former to work, i set up the stuff i want, but no land shows up
