Terrain isnt smooth after terraforming

Whenever i use the terrain editor to raise/lower/flattern any part of the landscape, it appears to have worked correctly.
However, when i relight, the terrain isnt smooth at all, and it looks horrible!
How do i stop it from doing that or remedy it???

This may have absolutely no affect, but try reloading the mission after you make the changes. It's worth a shot.

hit o to open the options and set the hieth adjust to a lower value try 1 or 0.5 after adjusting the hiegth then select paint smooth. and smooth over the terrain with smooth selected and a number 1 or 2 size brush

...and then go into the Texture editor and retexture your map...

I was having the same difficulty...use the 'soft brush' [smooth] instead/after you to any raising/lowering or whatever...I know it looks too big at first, but it's really not...if it bothers you too much lower the size of the soft brush in the settings.

And use paint instead of select...except for punching holes.
