The 32 player limit is just the default max, the server can set it as high as it wants to. This is much like it is in T2 where the default max was 64, but that didn't stop a server from setting a limit of 128 or 256 (although they didn't usually fare well badnwidth wise ).

Don't be daft Kit, you can't deny the fun of sitting in front of your computer on Friday night trying to get into Houston Vehicles, clicking the 'refresh server' button every 4 seconds until eventually someone leaves and there's a free spot, and as you rush to press Join Game you think 'Finally', only to find that someone else has slipped in in that millisecond and robbed you of your chance to join.
