Moving objects possible?

I was checking over some old threads and I saw somethnig about moving trams or whatever.

Am I correct to assume this type of function will still work in T:V and not foul up horribly?

Granted there are the vehicle pad-type things that spew out people in the SP demo... hmmm...

And if it truly is possible, how hard is it to do? Knowledge of scripting required? what kind of shap is it, BSP (I doubt it) or mesh?

static mesh is used for movers.. you need to choose the static you want to be a mover in the static mesh browser.. ie click on it so it is highlighted.. then right click on the add mover button in your tool box.. now it will place a mover wherever your bsp making box is at.. so best to have that where you want your mover...

now comes the fun part.. you need to make points where it moves.. ie right click on the mesh and choose mover key or something.. its been awhile.. anyways 0 is start and 1-8 is the optional points you can move to.. so you can even have it looping so it moves form point 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 and so on...

best bet is to read tutorials and see how its done.. now whether movers work in TV remains to be seen but they do work in UT2004 so dont see why they cant in TV...
there is alot of other things you need todo to get movers to work also.. the default is 2 move points so for each point over two you have to change the number of move points in the mover properties...
now off I go to eat.. now go read some tutorials..

stick to the ut2003 and 2004 tutorials..

Actually most everything animated in T:V currently are SkeletalMeshes - that is, Meshes with a Bone Structure.

They are treated totally different than StaticMesh. One thing being they have to be "enabled" in Script to play Animations etc.

StaticMesh is exactly what its name implies.. Static (non changing model), even if location changes, which is where a Mover comes in..
