Need help with clouds...

I made some clouds earlier [using PSP7], but they stopped working at some point. I remade them using ten billion different techniques to apply the alpha channel, but I can't get the clouds to display in the game [though the clouds for the Dynamix skies still show up fine]. I have my .dml and texture files set up properly [as far as I know], I just can't get the clouds to work now. Can anybody give me a short [but specific] set of rules for making a cloud layer texture? This is the method I was using...

1 - Load jpeg in PSP.
2 - Resize to 512x512 or 256x256.
3 - Open another instance of the jpeg and resize.
4 - Convert second file to greyscale.
5 - Apply greyscale image to original jpeg as an alpha channel.
6 - Save original as .png file in proper place with proper name.
7 - Worked yesterday, doesn't work now

On a side note, if I rename and move one of the dynamix cloud files, it shows up, but if I open it in PSP and save it, it won't show up [no changes made, just opened and saved as]. If I could get a response sometime in the next 6 days [before my trial version runs out] that would be great

I dont recall doing anything special to the cloud layers except changing the color then saving them under new names to the location that i specified in the dml. Im going to go ftp up my Inebula map and post it in the beta section, right now so grab it and take a look perhaps that will help, also Ive updated the sky tutorial....
