Post that map in the beta section when it's ready, I itch to see purple skies once again.

closing off the sky box, Just enable bottom layer or texture, hmmm forgot what exactly it is but its under sky in the t2 editor. I havent bin able to get a map to run without any terrain, then again I havent looked into much, I did try by using the interior test mission that comes with the WC tools as it has no terrain, but I was not succefull. If u enable the bottom texture or is it show bottom texture, hmmmm anyways if you do and your map takes place high enough up so that the ground is not visable your bottom layer will show.

My iiiNnebula map or maybe I'll call it purple sky's hehehe, will be out shortly. It started out as an example for the sky tutorial then turned into a full blown map with custom interiors w/ textures , water textures , and sky and cloud textures. But its almost finished just need to do the lods for the interiors.

OK a small update and fix to making a custom sky.


first off the fix, I had the files in the dml mixed up so that the back and the front right were reversed or something like that. The correct order of the dml is:

skys/right
skys/left
skys/leftcenter
skys/rightcenter
skys/top
skys/bottom
skys/tokrzsky_emap
skys/testmove1
skys/cloudmove2
skys/cloudtmove2

All my sky textures, cloudlayers, and Emaps now reside in:

*.\dynamix\tribes2\gamedata\base\textures\skys

Make sure the dml is saved in:

*.\dynamix\tribes2\gamedata\base\textures

***Note:
I changed the folder and names of the textures in the
sky box so I wouldnt confuse myself and hopefully to
make it a bit easyier to comprehend. The last three
lines are the cloud layers these are optional.

To clear things up even more here is a new pic showing the locations of the textures as listed in the above DML above:





also the above pic has bin optimized to load quicker so the quality is not up to par. Yes its a new improved sky.. Got a few more in the works as well.

I don't know why I find that so confusing...maybe because of the names you're using...here is the correct order the layout needs to be in as I have found it:

The jpeg is a working sky with the layout I just gave, and here is the .dml order from Trident [and also the order my dml is setup in]:
