choosing SS textures

is there any way to make the game call a different texture file for a mission?

say call up firestorm but use the underhill texture?

i tried adding a dynamic but it didn't work

texturefile = "underhill_texture.cs";

didn't work that way, should it?

Im not a scripter but maybe you should add the path to the file as well.

texturefile = "terrain/texture/underhill_texture.cs";

then again I doubt you can just add a dynamic like that...

hhmm - when you look in the texture editor, the files are .cs files, and .cs files are client side :P. I'm not sure on this one, but is there a way you can make the .mis point to this file? Or would that have to do with the .ter file?

Lots of news, just checking into this again, there is a command that re-loads the texture. Not sure if it is client side or not, but you guys could sure try. Ok, you can do something like this in a .cs file loaded by the map or something - exec the texture file, such as "exec("terrains/texture/Reversion_texture.cs");".

That loads the materials (the textures). Then, you can do this - which loads the terrain - Texture::applyMaterials();

doh, false alarm - it seems textures::applymaterials(); only works during the map editor mode. Need to check these things out before I post stuff eh :P

Alundra is correct. But you must remember, those .cs files are for the editor's use. The files that actually make up the map are .mis, .ter and .spn. I am fairly sure that you can not use those .cs files outside the editor. But I could be wrong.

if the cs files are for the editor exclusively are they needed in the vl2?
