How do i add alpha layers?

How do i add alpha layers to my textures. I'll take instructions for Paint Shop Pro 7 and Adobe Photoshop 6.0. Thank u

For PSP:

1 - select an image and go to Mask->New->From Image
2 - Select 'from Luminance'
3 - Once you have the mask, go to Mask->Save to Alpha Channel

Not sure if it matters what you name it [I used the devs 'Alpha Channel 1'], and I'm sure there are other ways, but that is the way I know. You might have to play with it a little if I messed up on one of the menu selections or something.

no that u mention it yes on the cloud textures they cause transparency I believe this has to do with how the particulair texture is tied in to which scripts, to get my textures with alphas working on interior object I had to add some extra code to the mis file tying that particulair texture to a script function. Im not a scriptro in the least so I cant tell you more, but for the clouds I required no such script. also with the inorior textures the alpha definitly caused reflectivity with one test almost to the point of a mirror like effect...
