how do i open my saved map all that happened is when i hosted another server i got 2 sanctuarys (the map i made it off of) and also i screwed up sanctuary, i think i saved over it, i could use some help

maybe you could tell me how to save my map without overwriting another one... in the save screen i typed the new name, pressed enter, and all the files were my new maps name, but it didnt install or whatever

I responded to this elsewhere. You must have posted this elsewhere.

Save over the map using the default name. The map will appear in your base\missions folder. For example, if you fire up Sanctuary, edit or not edit, and save it as sanctuary, you will have a Sanctuary in your missions folder. You will have two Sanctuaries in your CTF list in game.

Four files will be saved: Sanctuary.mis, .ter, Sanctuary_heightfield.cs, and Sanctuary_texture.cs.

You must rename all of these to a name of your choosing. Also, you must open Sanctuary (or the new name).mis and use find/replace to change all instances of "sanctuary" to your new name.

Saving under a new name from the mission editor does not work. In other words, you are not doing anything wrong, nor are you saving over the default Dynamix maps. Follow the steps above.

ummmm you dont have to go thru ALL this hassle.
When at the save screen in the editor just put the name of your map in the emty bar at the top, then hit enter. You'll see all the filenames change. Also if your doing a Server-Side map you need to click on the "X" things above the filenames(in the save screen still) except the mision one (.mis).

This makes it so that it saves the just the mission file.
