Object Scale

Does anyone know if the scale of a wall will drop the FPS more than just one normal size wall? I figure it does because the CPU has to draw more, but will the FPS take a bigger hit on a Scaled wall or an interior of the same size?

The reason I ask is I need to fake some interior structures by making them out of walls. (don't want to make the map clientside) The structures are pretty big and I was wondering if it's worth it to acctually Build the whole thing.

Although I have not actually tested it, Yes I do believe it will affect your FPS. But how much depends on how much you scale the object.

There are a lot of maps out there with structures built entirely from walls and stuff like that. Check those out and decide from that.

On another note, buildings fabricated from a single wall object tend to be very ugly and unappealing. I know you want to keep it server side, but the end result may not be worth it.

Ya big walls are ugly, but decorating the place with miscellaneous objects is easy. most of my bases don't look too bad. Anyway thanks for answering.

the biggest pain is that it's hard to predict the limit... some PC setups might slow down to 1 fps when viewing a superstretched interior item... while most fast PC's wouldn't slow much at all...

just another reason to playtest
