Hi, I'm new to the mapping game, but learning fast (I think). Anyway, I'm trying to make my first full map (I made an unfinished one based on Hanger18 by NecroBones and named it Rollin' Thunder, oblivious to the map by the same name by Akira). So I've been trying to get an original idea and think I've hit gold:
A seige map set entirly inside a "fun house" made of Blue FFs. The attacking team has to navigate the confusing halways to find gens that power the certain FFs blocking their way. The defending team must keep these gens online (obviously). I was also thinking of adding traps like switches that make floors dissepear, dropping the people standing on it into a pit of lava or somthing. Tell me if you think its worth it (not everybody likes confusing maps).

I think if the map isnt purely a funhouse it could be great. I think a balance of out-in-the-open and labyrinth would be interesting.
I too am new and released my first map a couple of weeks ago, so I'm not exactly an expert.
But i couldnt imagine playing a half hour running around a maze of blue.

The latest Tribes editor is not the same as that seen in the tutorials. Use the tutorials provided and for information on using the newest editor.

Thanks, I'm gonna need quite a bit of help with this. I'm working on a side project to, CTF contained in the Ultima Thule base, but if you want to talk, I'm usually in the LeG[F] chat.

Two things:
1) Dangit, Ultima Thule isn't a balanced map! You can't do CTF in it!
2) This idea has already been worked with a bit. Last MOTW was Containment, which works like this idea. No traps though, it's based in Ultima Thule.

First off, I know itrs unbalanced, but I thought the idea of being trapped in the UT base playing CTF would be interesting...and I know about Containment, its one of my favorite seige maps. I was thinking of putting a new spin on the level...CTF style.
Secondly, its only a side-project thing. I wasnt thinking of releasing it unless it came out pretty good, cause I still need a bit more experiance with the editor. Its the one with the traps that I wanted to focus on. If you want to help out a stupid mapping newbie, I'll need it with that.
