Bot Support for Fountains of Paradise

I have all of the AI graphs for Fountains of Paradise and my .mis file. The bots do OK except for the fact that they don't use the transport fields to go up to the flags on the floating platform.

If I tell a bot to repair a turret next to the flag, it will stand on the ground almost below the turret.

How do I tell the bots to use the transport fields?

I know that this is a map-specific question, but it also might be helpful for setting up nav routes, waypoints, etc or something similar.

I'm pretty sure you can place an AI objective to touch a certain point. The problem is that the bots don't know that the transfer field is a valid means of movement, and so they don't use it. What you'd need to do is tell them flat out thay they need to touch an area inside the field, preferably close to the ground (so even the Juggs know they can jet that high). Then, they'll just continue on up through to the top. One thing you may need to do is put walls on all 4 sides of the field, so they couldn't go through it the wrong way - it would be like putting a transfer field down the middle of a tube, preventing the bots from going through horizontally.

I'm not sure if that would work, or if that objective even exists, but I think it would work.

I have no ideas on this topic (bots on FoP). I looked at it and saw the problems and decided to not even go there. If y'all can get it working, I'd love to see it tho...

Zear, nice to see ya back and well. Hope the vacation didn't take too much out of ya.

On this subject, I've been doing some studying. In order for the bots to actually work, you'd have to redefine the AI Functions, and tell them to follow objectives in a particular order to get to a certain level. MAJOR redesign, probably not even worth it, considering how idiotic bots are right now... just wait until you start messin' with 'em.
