Don't add 16 to the $EverythingMask. Everything was used to detect terrain, forcefields, objects, etc... that would restrict line of sight. Water doesn't.

If you want to define

$TypeMasks::WaterObjectType = 16; then do that and then whenever you do a containerRadius or containerRayCast you add water and another mask together like this:

%Result = containRayCast(%StartPosition, %EndPosition, $EverythingMask | $TypeMasks::WaterObjectType);
(assuming you set this as a constant already as suggested above).

Ultimately, what are you trying to find?

Havoc hands water quite well as it uses water for many of the mods. The shocklance can electrify a water around where it hits water. If you are on shore then you can fish for those that just dove up to 20 meters, if you are in the water you are most likely dead yourself from doing that. Water takes off the burning effect and prolongs an EMPs effect. There is also a depth charge dropped from the bomber and a depth charge turret mode that fires a canister which explodes just under the surface.
