The LOS (Line Of Sight) graph is used by the AI to direct bots to their objectives. If you do not perform this step on a bot-enabled map, the bots are likely to run into walls, jump up and down aimlessly, or run in circles looking at the ground. The bot AI attempts to take the most direct path to it's objective, and without the LOS graph, it doesn't realise when that path is blocked.
