A.I. Animals?

In refrence to my own question, "Is there a RandomObject script for animated man-attacking plants, animals... with kill zones? I can do the modelling and animation, what's the process for the rest... 'bots?" I decided to follow up on it in here:

I wrote to Werewolf (of Spoonbot/Botpilot fame ) for the first time today regarding the idea of making "Sentient Animals" for Tribes 2. I like the term "A.I. Animals" better now. Some ideas I've had on the project...

I think ultimately two types of animal should be randomly assigned for the 3 terrains; land, water, and air; "Harmless Herd Animals" (i.e. Cows, Fishes, Ducks) and "Man/Herd-Eating Animals" (i.e. Tigers, Sharks, Pterodactyls)...

...It sounds like a lot of fun with lots of options including a new possible game type (Safari) and new hazard types (see Man-Eating Animals above).

Am I on the right track thinking that a "Killer Plant" would basically be a teamless turret (with a few modifications)? If these could be randomly placed and propagated (outside of bases), we've might have something here.

...

One more thing... how would someone import animation files (from 3D Studio Max, etc.) for use on custom objects in Tribes 2?

Yeah, that may be the first test... any luck on finding that "randomizing frequency of occurance" script?

B.T.W. I can't host this right now, but if someone could, I'd like to see what people think a Tribes 2 Animal should look like (just for suggestions). Air/Land/Water, Hunter/Herd Animal.

Do you think they should look more like real animals or more Sci-Fi? Ultimately, we'll make the final decisions because I have to model and animate these things, but I'm interested.

Werewolf has informed me that each animal will most likely take up one bot space... I believe the max count on bots is 16, but you're more likely to run less than 10. Additionally, how are we going to be able to import the animals' animation? Can someone from Dynamix contact one of us about these things?

I doubt its possible to spawn bots even when the server has them disabled. If it was possible, I'd be willing to bet it was a bug.
