Understand that there are 2 main parts the the building... visual and collision. Textures make up the visual. This allows you to see what is there. Collision makes up what in real life would be its mass. This handles touching it.

When you combind these 2 elements into one item (a brush), you can create an illusion of something real.

When you use the NULL texture (pinkish thing), your telling the game/Morian that you don't want that face to be seen. This can be usefull because that face will not be rendered... and so will not use system resources.
