Well I thought I would show what I have been doing with my knowledge of mapping for Tribes 2/Torque.

Its the initial stage of my Toons game.. its a little slim on content but has enough bare bones to play..



Mainly I wanted to show Bytor how much this site did mean to me at least.. I probably would never have mapped and gotten into designing levels without the help of the people on these forums.. Mainly worldcraft as I used that in a lot of my maps..

again we can never thank you enough Bytor but hey..

One of the players on our server is taking the time to download all the maps from T2maps and I will be hosting them on the clan website. I will make it available to the public if they wish to download them. They will be in map packs devided into each section just like the website.

I would be willing to host the site aswell, we have a full web design group and several IT guys willing to invest the time. I have seen the map reviewers said they would also move to the new host and continue thier great work.

In the mean time, I know its not to fancy or anything but here is the link to a temporary download section with all the maps.



a_monkey is still uploading maps but a good amount of them are already uploaded. We will make a nicer area on the site in our downloads section in the very near future but this should work if somebody wants to grab all the maps.

Bytor, you have been a great inspiration to mappers and the T2 community, I hope you enjoy your endeavers and wish you all the luck, you are truly one of the great people in this online community.

i wonder if it is possible for the community to run the new tribesvengeance website instead of just one person designing it and such

perhaps start with a forum and let the members add pages and such via FTP idk im just throwing ideas around
problems with that are: DNS isnt free a would cost $$, not sure about monthly fee there are several .com DNS providers, webspace like a host (()) or if we can find someone with a webserver and plenty of bandwidth


as ive said the forums arent hard to move and such but that map database
i would love to help wether just helping code or taking on the thing

I we do have to shell out some money for a web domain then i wonder how many people would actually contribute. This site and Bytor had a lot of people saying how much they liked it and how much they'll miss it but i'm wondering how many people would be willing to give a little cash to help support a T:V mapping site. Seriously, without as organized a mapping site as this one for T:V, it won't last long unless the community wants to play the same 10 maps over and over.
