Well, I just did a ton of work on my next game development project. I'll probably loose a lot of points because the idea was to have a working game with AI, but my game just turned out to be a showcase of the artwork and the game engine... lol. So no weapons, enemies, or items have been implemented yet... you can just move around.

I've had the idea for this game for a long time. I've always imagined incorporating Tribes 2 gameplay into a 2D platformer. Now I finally got the chance. My idea was to make a game done entirely in a black, white, and red color scheme, and mix elements from both Tribes 2 and Super Metroid (the old Super Nintendo game). So, its basically Super Metroid with jetpacks, and 10 times more awesome. Despite the lack of AI in this game, I hope the teacher picks my game for the final project... if he does, I'll be able to lead a team of people to finish up this thing.

Everything you see was hand drawn by myself. I was going to use 3D renderings of Tribes 2 weapons for the actual game weapons, but as it is there are no weapons in the game. All the standard weapons (Spinfusor, chaingun, grenade launcher, etc) were going to be included with Tribes 2 sounds. My problem was I spent all the time on the artwork and not enough time on the gameplay... but everything looks really nice.

A moves left, D moves right, SPACE for jump, Right Mouse Button to jet (well its actually not jetting, the main character really flies due to super powers).

I did this thing basically in one night... the engine I used is actually based off of code to make a Sonic engine, so I could have the main character running up walls if I wanted to, lol.
