Akira, please tell us how you created your terrain for Insurgence. Did you start with a grey-scale Heightfield, and how long did it take? Just wondering, b/c I love that terrain.

It was done by hand, all of it [in the mission area anyway], in the terrain editor. It took a long time.

Yes, I was wondering that myself.... Nice work. :D

Besides.... Bitmapped terrains are very choppy in some respects. If you ever take a look at Tranq Base on the CC you'll know what I mean. :rolleyes:

It is too bad client side maps dont get played very much, people just dont know what they are missing out on. I just don't know how you do it akira, the amount of time that must go into these things is insane!

It's not insane. It usually takes me about 24+ hours just to make good terrain. You just take your time and see what fits, and what doesn't fit.
