I haven't used the t2 map editor much at all...I'm waiting for the patch to come out so i dont UE anymore, so not sure if these png files will work or not

Actually I may be intrested keep the link bumped when ever you get a new one. Any intresting terrain would be nice.

okay, uh, how do you import the png files into the editor? I click on terraforming, then bitmap, and when i click load, my .png files aren't listed. I've put them in gamedata/base/missions/terrians/heightfield

is that not correct? am i missing anything?

Try to get images that are square. And make sure that they are no bigger than 8km x 8km.

But this is a great idea. I tried looking through a bunch of linked sites, after many, many links clicked, wasn't able to find the files I needed.

well i do GIS stuff for my work (geographic information systems)...there are these files called DEM's, Digital Elevation Models...I can import them into a program called ArcView (there are also freeware programs outt here that will import them), it turns them into colored heightfields, then i just change the color to greyscale, and export it to .png. DEMs are fairly easy to find for the United States.....
