Need help with cutting holes in mega-map

The Tribes 2 Game was build around the Terrain set to 2048 x 2048 meters in size and 8 meters per terrain square. You can extend the mission area beyond that but as you have learned the terrain repeats itself past those boundries. You can change the Terrain Square Size to make the terrain larger like was done in maps Scarabrae and Broadside. But when you cut a hole it will be a bigger hole (more problems).

Remedy = Make mission area to fit on the Terrain 2048 X 2048, or do not use buildings that are underground. Or place a
Building or big Rocks to cover the extra holes that you don't want.

Note: Bots will only funtion on Terrain size 8 meters per square.
Don't attemp to Draw NAV or Spawn with mission area past
2048 x 2048 boundy (= out of memory error). Instead
make mission area smaller to draw Spawn then Resize
mission area after you have saved Spawn file. Spawns also
will function outside of mission area but not outside 2048 x
2048 terrain area. Sorry I did not make the game engine.

Well, thanks a ton already.

Here's my dilema. The main focal point of this map was to be a large mountaintop megamap. The hillside vbays are what I have stuck in the mountain, so I'm wondering if I can somehow make it fit without doing all that other crap. Bumping up the square size by 1 might just do it for me if I can put it behind the base. It'll reduce the overall height of my hills, although this isn't too much of a problem so long as I can keep the map balanced. I'm also considering changing the midpoint objective to something more nice and attractive, seeing as my capturable objective looks like crap pretty much. Maybe a nice big bridge spanning the canyon?

I'm gonna try throwing in the larger squaresize, which should just make it fit hopefully. We'll see.

You might want to try to cut holes that are about the same size in the hills, and then, when people are able to get in the vbay without hitting any terrain, you can use rocks to plug up any areas that were not covered.

EDIT: Damn Internet Exploring is messing up on me. So, as i was saying...

If you remember one of the maps on the Rev server, i forget which one, but both bases are in valleys, and there is a huge mountain between them. When lexor put the vbays in, her cut holes as well. What ever of the cut holes was left and not covered by the vbay, he used rocks to plug them up.

If you can, and hte holes that are cut are EXACTLY 2 times the size of the front of the entrance, you can size the vbay to 2 2 2 in the scale field in the inspector tool.

Are you sure about not being able to draw a spawn graph if a sphere is outside of the 2048X2048 terrain repeat grid? I'm pretty sure one of my maps does and most of the spawns work fine. In fact the ones that don't are inside the normal area!
