Lava problem making me hotheaded (lol)

Sorry for the joke in the title for starters.

Anyway, so I'm messing around in my editor making a map. On this particular map, I wanted lava covering the bottom areas of this underground base i had made, coming up to a specific spot on the wall. Where that spot was, the lava would be only a seen in that base, becuase there was no other accessable place at that height. However, when trying to bring the lava down to said height, i find that the lava appears to disappear . Unable to be seen but actually there, it would obviously be quite annoying.

Are there any ways to fix this:confused:

Tribes 2 has always had problems rendering water/lava inside buildings. I know what you mean... the lava is technically there, but it's invisible. Sorry to tell you this, but I'm pretty sure there's no solution to the problem.

You could probably hack up something with a forcefield and lava textures if you really need to

just a quick idea

u can put lava there, and when someone walks in there you can have a custom death message saying, PLAYER last breath was full of poison or PLayer didnt read the do not enter sign etc etc. But you can put the lava option there and say it was because of poison gass or something. Red Shifter made a great custom death script that u add to the end of your map .mis file. I believe BOOT used it in his map CheckMate if you wanted to look for the code. Just an idea i dont know if you had your heart set on lava but you get the same effect with this. Also you can change the submerged text and the texture of the lava to something like hazy water so it loks like a gacious poision... i dunno just an idea

If you're saying that you have a base that has lava in it, and the lava is set to a height that brings it entirely below all of the terrain, then if I recall correctly, you cannot fix it.

The surface of all waterblocks (water, lava, etc) must be surrounded completely by terrain. This means that you cannot have a visible waterblock where the surface is not touching the terrain at all, or even if one side isn't completely intersecting.

The solution is to create or use an already existing dip in the terrain for the lava to "sit" in, and put the base overtop of that.

I can explain further if need be.
