Making backups of one's mission file is a good idea whether one uses the in-game editor or a text editor. Besides, T2Maps still has Bytor's syntax checker. Use it!

Would it be possible to export all of the objects' names, matched up with their ID number, to a .cs file? And then restore these names later on when you reload the editor? Sounds like another future idea for Dick Longfellow's handy utilities...

Dr. Pimento had a script that at mission load it saved all the "Names" to "$" Varibles and before he saved mission, he put the names back. Ask Dr. P.

Yes indeed.

You get everything named as you want, and run WriteNames(); from the console.

From then on, every time you continue your mapping, you just run ReadNames(); and it would pull everything back to the "normal" names.

Simple, really.
