Finally, after a few months of hard work, I just passed the 1mb mark for my compiled base. Thing is, my base is still only about 60% done

I suggest not scaling anything down. There's nothing wrong with having things hanging off the grid; it should still compile just fine. Not having a grid to work with can make editing a little tricky, but not impossible.

Ahhhh, I remember this, hehe. Yes, selecting all and moving the base to get those areas back on the grid for finishing touches...good times...
The only thing it will affect is your base placement on the map next time (unless you move the base back to its original grid location).
I would say don't scale as well...just move the base so the area you need to work on is on the grid.

Actually, moving the entire base around is easy. Just select everything, scale the grid way up (128 is a good grid size), and use the arrow keys to move everything around without any fuss. If you remember how many times you tap the keys, you'll easily be able to put things back in exactly the same place they were.

Good idea, but the problem with that is most of my textures are "aligned to world". If i move a brush with a texture like that, then the texture becomes misligned.
