Map Size Scale Question

This may have been asked before, but I cannot find it. Might be good to bring it up again anyway.

What size area would I need to subtract in UT to make a mission area size equivalent to the 1024x1024 (or is it 2048x2048?) area in T2 (the max before the terrain repeated)?

For example, when the final editor ships, it will have a nice feature to quickly create basic maps of 128x128, 256x256, or 512x512. How does this scale with T2 and how will it affect importing T2 terrains into TV (will it give different terrain heights between say a 256x256 and a 512x512 import)?

I guess I am confused on the differences of scale (map/actor size) if any (in units) between the two games. This is probably the best place to start for me, and hopefully this is a relevant question. I just can't get it in my thick skull for some reason.

If I can't play maps that are T2 sized, I will be an unhappy gamer.

1. forget t2 units

check out existing maps and right-click on the cube brush tool thingy and play with different sizes to see how big the base maps are.

generally, i suspect a main area of about 125,000 units is gonna work well.

terrain heightmap textures oughta be 512x512 resolution for best results (the engine can handle up to 2048x2048 but i wouldnt do that!).

fyi, a light armor player is about 160 units tall in TV.

In the UT 2K4 they used terrain @ 4096 x 4096 x 4096 don't know what TV is

TseTse, that 160 units for a light, what units would that be for a modeling program? inches?
Does TV use feet for it's measuring units?

Definately not! I think t:v uses UU (unreal units)
