I think by making the lights 3D it means that you should make an actual shape for the light, instead of just a flat texture. Like have a cube protruding from the wall with the light texture on it.

I find that it is easy to make error-free chutes if you make an 8-12 sided cylinder, on its side, and use the cylinder to carve a curve out of a block, like so...
Should help you with that tearing problem you have with your chutes.

I think what Cyborg means is make the light fixture in the textures to stick out, did you say that Hacker?:confused:
I'll keep that in mind for my next interior Longfellow, that seems easier.
I have almost finished the inside of the interior and was working on the outside textures. I'll go back when I've felt like I'm done and make a few changes. Next time I show pics it should be finished.
Thank God for 2 week vacations, I can finish the 3 interiors and get on the map itself. One question though, should you make all 9 LODs or is just three fine for a small bunker?

if only you hear all the bad stories about carve tool in counterstrike mapping forums. it will acctually carve into anything the cylinder touches or is close to.

I was unfortunate having come into the t2 mapping community too late, but I still plan on finishing this base and making more maps. It doesnt really matter to me how many people play it, I just enjoy playing in the levels I create. I guess you could say I do it for posterity.
