Just thinking, but would anyone want to make a total conversion mod for tribes 2? Like updated higher poly models/textures and such.

Can't help you there Cyberg, no time and there are just so many people trying to make T2 runoffs it is just rediculous, nice idea though

i'd be happy with a "remove serial keys or find another way to create accounts and fix/remove autoupdater" sort of mod that way people would actually start playing again

i seem to recall when TV demo was released on fileplanet and T2 was available free for download and was downloaded much more then TV

after "gamedata/" in online shortcut, take out the autoupdate part and plug this in "Tribes2.exe -online"
remember not to include the " "

i know, but would it be possible to relase a update that changes the shortcuts to a new path?

it would have to be relased over the autoupdater sicne anyone who hasnt yet figured it out could have it done automatically ((alot of people havent or dont know how and just stopped playing because of it))

I think the major problem is not in the autoupdate but that they will no longer give out key codes. Nobody is going to play it when they can't get a keycode. Anyways... They won't change it because they don't care about the T2 community. They abandoned it when they decided to not update TV...

the tribes series isnt profitable to them anymore after TV when they can make more money on other games and titles

would be interesting to see T2 run, admined, and managed by the community however i doubt that could happen

It could, but it will not be. Sierra has Fear and EE for itself. Tribes isn't dead, but it isn't building anymore...
