Capture and Hold Capture the Flag Desert Clear Night
So far I've been unable to make a cavern map in T2 (I think they made the engine more restrictive than T1 as far as terrain is concerned), so I did the next best thing. The arena is under a large concrete enclosure, with catwalks that run along the cieling, complete with howling air vents. The floor is sandy, and covered with dead trees, vehicle wrecks, and bodies that scream in pain. There are 4 capturable bunkers on the ground, but it's the capturable box in the center of the catwalk that proves to have the greatest tactical advantage. This makes for an extremely fast and furious battle.

by TseTse on May 31, 2001 Permalink · Rating:Well, I'm generally not that fond of the "arena" genre. Reminds me of the aspects of Q3A and UT that I didn't like. However, this map plays quite well. It gets really hairy on the top, and I think that with large numbers and folks who knows the map, it quickly turns into a mortar fest. But, if you enjoy the messy moments and the challenge of constantly keeping your base in repair, then this map is a nice change of pace from the heavy strategic gameplay. Neutral objectives actually add something on this map, compared to many other cases where they are really arbitrary add-ons.

by Darkbolt on July 31, 2001 Permalink · Rating:Simply put this is one of my most favorite maps on t2 yet. I love the darkness. The screaming people gave it that 'zing' that most maps dont have. Also all the capturable bunkers make the action non-stop. My favorite map for cloaking and shocklancing people to hell. Try adding vehicle bays with shrikes and hover bikes, and it might just get a more awesome then it is now. Keep up the good work necro, your maps are the best!
Definitely fun. It's nothing

by Mercen4ry on October 30, 2001 Permalink · Rating:On a side note, it's very possible to make a cave map (all it requires is a whole lot of BE rocks and about 6-10 hours) via placing individual rocks one-by-one to create a cave. While this is very tedious, it's probably the only way to get it done.... For tips, see maps Red Faction and Nocturnous.
This is my favorite map.
