Capture the Flag Lush Clear

Man, I love this one. Granted I may be a bit biased towards it, but man...

Easily my best server side base.

This one started out as a demo to a friend of how to make a map in T2, and it really took a great form. There are tons of nooks and cranny's in this base for people to hide. The flag has two sides the East and North covered by an FF, the other two sides are always open, and of course, the FF's come down with the base gen.

There are 4 *damnation* towers with absolutely nothing in them, great for snipers or mortar lobbers. I intentionally left these towers barren so that any enemies could be rooted out rather easily.

The Objective bridge has two control points. North and South, this should give an interesting little mid map battle. The ceiligns are high, but the V-pads are covered in an attempt to stop the inevitable llamas... I mean HABers.

Thanks to |HV| Terranova and |HV| Sexy Aphrodite for helping me with some ideas.

Special thanks to |HV| Spen and his little brother NeoFocker for helping discover a debilitating error, right before I packed it up.

Personally, I find the Server-Side-Complex look unnatractive. The vehicle pads, being at the entrance to the base, look pretty rapable, and quite a lot of attention will be focused on those gens, which I think should have been placed on the ledge above to prevent lobbing mortars in and taking them out too easily. The gens should also be waypointed properly so you can tell when they (and therefore the FFs too) are down.

Within the limits of server side maps, I think that the base you've constructed is coming close to looking like a client side base with less detail.

It's very well designed in general, but as Tag pointed out, that vehicle pad looks quite rapapble.

You might this this map has problems, but NEVER have I seen a map that played as balanced as this one does on Houston Vehicles. There is no one team owns another team, because the spawn is close to the gens. There is no constant vpad bombing, because there's just enough cover to block some of the attacks. There's no easy capping, because of the 2 FF's, and the Center objective is the ultimate for sniping enemy cappers. As far as the server side look goes, I have to disagree. It's like playign with Tribal Legos, anyone can make their own pieces that fit and do the job. The fun part is to build it with the pieces you have. However, I'll never chagne your opinion on server side to client side maps, and you'll never change mine, so let us agree to disagree.

Why did you throw that wall in the center? I slammed into it with a wildcat and dropped the flag.

It's probably there to stop people getting away in wildcats too quickly :D. All I said was that I didn't like the look of fitting stuff together, but I recognise that it takes some creative thinking and a bit of effort (though not as much as WC). Well done for making them, though, it's the only way that people on HV will ever experience new bases :) Sorry I didn't find anything positive to say before :)

Your right tex, its kinda balanced, Ive played it too many times on HV. Its a great map.. the middle tower dosnt do much tho cept provide a place for rocket-heavies. The wall in the middle is annoying. Turrets destroy any vehicle that gets near the base. If you wanna die heaps, play this map =D
