Starwolf: Adumula Iceplains starts off a Crisis which promises to at once become much deeper than anyone at the Outposts ever dreamed. In this mission, you are to defend a critical tower from an attacking force of Derms that are supposed to be made light of in no time.

This mission has to be played to experienced, quite frankly. The bots are awesome (Capto), the WC shapes are new (CleverClothe/Berk) the skies were made special for this (Dr. Pimento) and there are even voices (Death Lobster), since Lt. Kienze didn't have the foresight to record anything for our mission.

One word...DAMN. Bots with sniper rifles and piloting vehicles? I'm looking forward to the rest of the missions, so keep up the kick ass work!

Ya! Another comment! How fun.. =) The blessings of the team be upon you, Brilliant.. Thanks for the encouragement. Rest assured.. the Chapter will contain the best mission we can possibly put together. =D

It allready has :D. We've passed the dynamix final maps in downloads over the past 30 days (and this map hasn't even been out 30 days!)

Very impressive! I was quite impressed with the bots... only thing disappointing... a few occasionally were facing the other way (the snipers) and often they would stand still after I shoot them in the head... I dunno, loads of fun! Very well done

i dare say this map is nearly perfection , the bots worked amazingly well , aside from a few who would just stand there for a minute or so(guess they just loooved the wall pattern or something)... anyway , i had alot of fun on this map , and i reccomend it to everyone, i cant wait until the next map,(i found the map to be extremely easy when i changed the elf turret to a plasma one, just a hint for anyone who neglected that)

Download this now if you dont have it yet! its hellza fun!

Well.. as a team, we've decided to release Map 2 to the public as well. I can't just go telling everything about it.. but I will say that the bots have improved, and... the time is closer to 25 than 10. ;) Stay tuned.. you'll be hearing from us!

I'm wondering... how hard is the mission on hard difficulty? I couldn't ever manage to beat it, but I'm interested to see how people thought of the difficulty level...

A fun map, but if you are an extremely good defender you don't even have to fight under Easy. You guys (I hope accidentaly) allowed us to get a total of 20 turrets, which massacre the Bioderms. There were only two annoying things I found, the snipers took forever to shoot and every time the Havoc showed up it would unload everyone and then the pilot would run it into something and flip it. The only thing that it doesn't have is an oral mission breifing :(.

The reason being that... Have you even seen the file sizes on those suckers? We experimented with it, but found the size to be too big. And if you found easy easy, then I suggest you try it on Hard. ;)

I agree with StarStriker. That added another nearly 4 MB on the mission size.. because the briefing files have to be .WAV, if I remember correctly. The turret issue was addressed in mission 2. ;) And bot pilots are never predictable.. At least you had fun, eh!? =D

The only real thing keeping this map from being an A is the fact that it takes so much processing power that it pretty much eats my machine for breakfast...and taking the FPS down with it. Other than that I'm in love with these maps, shame there isn't a way to play this online with friends on your team, that'd rule.

by evelas on April 24, 2003 · Rating:

Still, you should have a .wav included, it would only be like 4MB, I mean thats like a 50 second download increase. (who cares about the 56k users =p)

by starstriker1 on May 5, 2003 · Rating:

Thats a pretty big increase.

Besides, we don't have top notch voice acting. Its so much better without the cheesyness!

And yes, I've been pressuring the team to convert some of these maps into some sort of co-op game... but we're busy right now, and can you imagine the scripting!?!

I load this thing up from time to time and just get immersed in a derm brawl of epic proportions... I love it.

I only had this happen once, but when I was making my retreat towards the Havoc, Makavelli got out and mid-air tked me with a disc. What a biatch! :P I guess he thought I was chicken or something, heh.
