Capture the Flag Other Clear Bots Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes
This map can be played on the new patch once it is out, or on the beta patch. I just got tired of holding on to it. Although the patch is due out any time now. This map was almost entirely hand painted (sounds kinda funny), with the terrain paint function in the new editor. It took a while! The sky was made using Terragen.
The main bases (and part of the flag bases) are from Akira's map Insurgence. This map has many paths to the flag. The flag is an easy grab if not defended well. The bases are defended well but not impossible. A cloaker could probably do the most damage as these bases are fairly large and complex inside. The map is a circular one, that's the reason for the name (it's not a real word as far as I know :)). There is a volcano in the center of the map which contains an objective to provied additional perimeter defenses. Hope you enjoy it!

Odd, that lava looks almost
by Iczer3 on September 23, 2002 Permalink · Rating:Odd, that lava looks almost like water in the 4th SS... Isn't lava supposed to be somewhat difficult to see through? I'm seeing right through it in that SS... It looks neat though! The flag stands, can/will cappers get a hotfoot if they stray too close to the edges of the flag itself (the center pannel which the flag rests on) or is it just clipping? Another interesting idea (if someone wanted to make a map with the idea...) is to have the stand for the flag down on the lava like that, but get the stormy lava (the one that is all wavy and whatnot, raises in depth and then falls, etc...) to ride over the top of the flag every so often, thus making the cappers think very carefully about timing... }:)
It does kind of look like it
by dr boom on September 24, 2002 Permalink · Rating:It does kind of look like it in the screenshot, but the flagstand is on solid ground. There is an area of lava behind it where I thought of putting it though. I just felt it made more sense on this map to put it where its at. The ground it sits on is surrounded by lava with narrow paths of terrain. A capper would still need to worry about the trajectory they took at the flag. I did make the lava semi-clear to show the terrain underneath. I thought it was a cool effect. The pools have an eerie glow to them, not to mention I never cared for the look of the lava in the game. The center objective in the center of the volcano is surrounded by lava that is wavy, unfortunately, it only gives the appearance of being dangerous. There is a limitation with lava to where lava waves do not harm you. It will scare some though until they realize that they can stand there and let the lava wave come over them and not be hurt, lol. Thanks for the comments. If you get a chance to test it, let me know what you think then too, thanks!
Yeah waves are purely for
by Lead Falcon on September 28, 2002 Permalink · Rating:Yeah waves are purely for effect; the water level stays perfectly level all the time, regardless of the wave magnitude. Anyway, looks pretty nice, but I'm on a P2 266 with a Radeon 7000 so i can't exactly run T2 right now (had to repaint my gamin rig so its sort of out of commission)... And I the sky, did you make it in Terragen?
yep, made it in Terragen.

Just from the screenshots,
