Capture the Flag Deathmatch Rabbit Other Clear Bots Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes
Once a peacefull planet, it is now being faught over. war has broken out and lasted for centuries.
The flags are approxomatly 1500m apart, with a capturable objective in the center called "The Temple". in the middle of the map, The Temple is guarded by 3 mortar turrets, and inbetween the teams is another mortar. having control of The Temple will give the Offence an upper hand. at the front of each base is a plasma turret for forward protection. each team has 2 inventory stations. the flag is guarded by an elf turret. and the terrain is very skiable...if you dont know how to ski...your SoL ;) (no vehicles)
All gametypes provide decent bot support.

When i first saw the distance between flags,i was worried about how it would play, but the distance between flags can be closed quickly due to the terrain being highly skiable. The interiors are a little basic, but they are textured well and look nice. I like the center mortar spam objective, it does have an impact on the game and can give an advantage to its owners. Good job kit!

Some good things I see are good texture placement in the custom buildings, and scale.. I like the inv station holders.. (looks familiar)
The bases are fairly well apart but there is the center objective, which helps..
It is a little barren as far as buildings.. could have added more to them but its a good start.
It appears to be balanced as neither side really has a advantage over the other besides skill.. : )
*things to improve.. ground textures.. try to add a offset color for roads and that way its more discernable as to which is road and which is hill.. : )
Alittle eye candy goes a long way.. try to add some rocks and trees in your next map...
it is a desert but could have a cool little oasis somewhere with some trees.. : )
all in all a good map for some fun playing.. : )

However, the terrain isn't really that skiiable, simply because the dunes are individually too small. True, this changes when you near the bases, but around the middle opf the map skiing isn't really supported extremly well. But thats perfectly allowed, anyhow, you still allow skiing unlike Sun Dried and similar maps. So that can be easily left alone. However, you might want to rethink some of the item placements on this map. The stations are too vulnerable, and the repair pack is too far. The mortar turrets are insanity, they could be a bit more spread out. And I'll point out that the ELF turret right on top of the flag makes snatching the flag next to impossible, not to mention the fact that the area with the flag is a depression in the interior. Mines are tough to shoot when in there, and the stand snags cappers. Excellent map, though. Keep at it!

by vXKitiaraXv on May 10, 2003 Permalink · Rating:ok. i said it befor (in the forums) and ill say it again :) the reason why the terrain is kinda flat is because i wanted to put more emphasis on the center objective. the terrain is a bit flat in the center, but twards the objective it is highly skiiable. the main reason why i did this was because if the capper wanted to get some speed, he would need to go through some trouble, the mortars. once again i have said that the turrets are changable :) the only difference between them, is the way you die, and getting blown to pieces is more appealing :)
the repair packs and vulnerabilty of the inventory stations in this map are what i wanted. think about it. if you have an enemy with destroyed invens, and a repair pack that is a couple hundred meters away, itll take some time to get things working again. thus giving the offence enough of an upper hand for a cap. the elf turret does not make it impassible to cap. its actually quit easy. i think that the concept is a little mis-understood. but its ok :)

by snow is yummy on February 9, 2004 Permalink · Rating:really cool....love all the objects and textures! having to get the repair pack is a great idea, I hate it when like 10 enimies are constantly stuck in your base and you have no chance to repair gens, and they cant really camp or anything in the inv spots on this map. congratulations on motw!

by kLUMSY bOT on February 12, 2004 Permalink · Rating:now this is what we call a 1337 map. notice the way the terrain perfectly fits the mappers intention. look at the way the buildings are simple, but beautifully textures. they dont hurt fps but look great at the same time. now this is inspired stuff! keep it up kit!
