Capture the Flag Other Other Clear Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes

First "Real" city for T2. Two bases located at edges of city, well armored. One copturable object (Tower) with sensors, IS and turetts. Two versions included: Day, Night, other on my site. Also three types of game: CTF, TeamDM, Dogfight. Many buildings and other city stuff...

If you like to fill wind in your chair... too fly like crazy around buildings and feel speed... sniping from a top of buildings... and play in your favorite game (T2 ;)) in Real City!

If you want new versions of map (like a foggy city, rain...) visit:
http://www.t2icea.prv.pl

Map`s take very long time in relight.
Some city textures are taken from DN3D.

So, does this use the Beta editor? (To enable the texture placement). Or are those roads really customs? Just wondering.. this looks really neat! =D

by CleverClothe on September 23, 2002 · Rating:

They are custom objects. This is nicely done. Way better than other attempts... Though I hope you kept the lag down (D/Ling now).

WOW, and DAMN IT!!! I was working on a city map with my friend, guess I have to rethink it or put it up on the rack. Anyway, Lighting took a bit BUT well work it. Smooth and alot of fun. Just for my personal reasons I added bots to it to get a better feel. And this will be alot of fun for ALOT of people. I would like to ask you a Q. When I talk to my freind TribelMa5ter, and he want to call it quits with our city map, I'll go ahead and send you stuff I worked on for it and see if you can use it or not. BUT I need to talk with him. Anyway, get work! I will keep this one close!!!

I have fallen into my darker side.

HOLY #$^(! This is the most realistic map I've ever played. The only compaints I have are a long load time and the fact you can't go into any of the buildings (but I dont blame you, thats near impossible to do). Otherwise, kick ass map!

It seemed a little bland to me (thus the grade), not much in the way of eyecandy... But the buildings! THEY'RE FUN! Flying around from rooftop to rooftop, you can make believe you're the early version of Spider-man from the movie! The benches scattered around the map also make for some REALLY nice displays of WC tricks (the benches if you didn't know are actually comprised of slender pieces of 'wood', but you'd have to get close to them to see through them). One small thing I would have loved to have seen is (and it'd be a pain in the butt too... so don't try it unless you're good with WC) some buildings that were made so you could actually enter them and run around on a few floors. But alas, that'd have taken quite some time... As UB pointed out, the lighting takes quite a while on lower end computers (hey, we don't all have 6 P4s running with a top of the market GeForce4 Ti 4600... And for those who do, can i have a couple of those processors? ), but you could easily just run to your television and watch something for a few mins while it loads. Something i noticed is that both bases are constructed differently... And (in my opinion) it's much easier to cap when on the Inferno team... The Storm flag tower doesn't seem to be large enough for the mortars to do any real damage... One more little technical 'nit-picking' item, the objective's generator. It feels like it's too 'rape-able' where it's placed... Shoot a mortar in, watch it blow up within 3 shots...

This is a realy great map and it looks like a lot of work with World Craft and like Iczer3 said it is sorta like a spider man version of tribes GOOD WORK!!!

Sorry for spelling before. Just to let you know, I now have a P4 with a G4 Ti 4200, 512 of DDRAM, Load time is the same. Engine, not computor problem.

I didn't see it yet. But if anyone cares, this is what Civilian Casualties was meant to be. It was dumbed down so it could be released this century. :) Glad to see someone could pull it off.

Great job! I am running this map with the same settings as I have run any other map and am averaging 35-40fps, so that is great imo, especially considering all the objects here. Very cool concept, very cool result. Hope to see more maps from you in the future.

Awsome. Very creative. Playable (if you have good 64mb vid card). Kinda wish you added bot support. I guess I can do that myself. But a fun map just to run arround it.

by CleverClothe on September 30, 2002 · Rating:

A much better city map than previous attempts. I like the buildings and layout. It is playable, but some optomizations would really help. I thought the bases were a bit of an eyesore. They are atleast a little unballanced and so need less turrets (maybe 1 less) and more sensors (atleast 1 med). A few more enterable areas and tunnels would also be nice.

by starstriker1 on October 4, 2002 · Rating:

First of all, I have to say that the amount of work you put into this was amazing. Great detail. The map is just as fun to look at as it is to run around in. The benches are extremely well done, and it sems that the whole thing never runs out of eyecandy. I am afraid to say that you didn't give gameplay the same level of thought. In addition to the bases being extremely well protected by themselves (which is fine considering that I'm talking about the protecting buildings), but the 5 turrets make it impossible to work with. If the AA's don't gun you down, the mortar/sentry turrets makes short work of you. In addition, each base is different, putting one team at a disadvantage. Also, the bases themselves didn't get the same level of work that the rest of the buildings did. They are an eyesore, but can be fixed with a bit of extra texturing. All in all, outstanding map! This is a map I'm keeping for the eyecandy and the pure joy of launching a wildcat/shrike off of the tallest buildings. I've yet to try scaling the buildings with a tank... hehe...

by Mo_Steel on October 7, 2002 · Rating:

Dear god, this could be used so many ways. Do a tank wars with tanks roving the streets. Have bombing runs over nme patrolled streets. Do you allow MPB's? Cause in a city, that would be awesome, unlikely, but awesome! I woulda suggested a central "park" with grass maybe, but hey. Ooh, and sniper wars, oh yeah, and o man!

*Starts drooling all over*

I'm dowloading, and getting a towel....

I know where you got your textures from. Great idea, original idea, but you could've made your own textures.

So? Did you take away from the grade because of that? Certainly, the texturing isn't top notch, but I must say the map has enough redeeming qualities to offset it :D

duke nukem textures???? im almost positive thats what the building textures are i used to build duke maps.....loved that game...

What the hell were you thinking when you came up with the*winks*? This map is the best of the best in CTF gameplay. It is so original, that if i was a reviewer fo t2map, i would give it a 115\%! The originality is spectacular, and the custom textures are so detailed that it looks like you are in a real city. That must have been where you got the name. Great work on everything in this map!

Well done on the map, I made a "city" map around 8/2001 myself but never got around to completing it. Doing buildings you can enter is not hard, and in fact would take up extra little room, considering, obviously as I did, many of the buildings are the same; just resized and rotated. I put my sliding door script on it and used Sparkys Teleporter code (man that was a long time ago =P, woot Sparky and TseTse) for covered teleports from inside one building to another. Allowed for stealthy city travel. I've got to admi tho, I lazied out and never finished my to a level I wanted to submit it to the world. You can catch a n old beta and screenshots off my now-not-updated but still in use site =)
http://www.mr-who.net/pics/rushhour.gif
it has bot support built in too
I think the beta there doesnt have any teles - i got frustrated and never uploaded that one =P

good job on the map, a little more work wouldnt take long to modify the buildings for access, but otherwise i like it.

Before you go crazy about the grade I think I have a good reason for it. On the buildings, I give you an A+. They are great. People here have been trying to put together a city map since tribes 2 came out and you made a pretty damn good one. It's fun as hell jump and fly around on this. However, I like to actually play and that is where the map kinda fails. Like people have said before, the teams are unbalanced because of the base designs. And because of that, it's no fun to play. I think you've done what just about everyone else couldn't and now take it and work on the CTF dynamix and you'll have a real A+ on your hands.

hey nice map. it would be really sweet if you created a map of the second city of gta3! now that would be awesome

by Foxhound4206 on December 24, 2002 · Rating:

This map rocks, its buidlings are awsome, the team gameplay is exremly fun, and the ability to fly through a town with vehicles and being able to rest atop the buildings is just sweet. This map couldnt get much better. Except to make most of the buildings abel to go in, and actually make it like a REAL city, doors open, windows and shoot through them, but im still dreaming, GREAT MAP!!
