Capture the Flag Desert Foggy Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes

TribalMa5ter came to me with an idea after watching StarWars episode 1 and the pod race. He said to me "lets make a tribes map based on pod racing!" And two months later after giving up over and over and over again we finally finished this. The biggest problems we came across was the very long scripting proccess and the damn pingpong script. BUT WE DID IT! Teleporters were fairly easy along with the rest of it.
Now for the map details! This is not your normal run of the mill race track,but a race for the flag. Along the way are many
dangers including three checkpoints and two CnH turret bays. At half way you can get repaired at the REPAIRSHOP...before hell really starts. During the course of the track, the land will get rougher
with narrow paths sharp ledges
and tight corners. When the match starts there will one minute to get prepaired for the doors to be lowered and thus
the race begins. Each team has 8 shrikes, 1 Bomber and 4 Havocs.
Teleporters play an important role in this map. Each teams base has 2 teleporters one to teleport farther down the track and one to return back to base. Top one will take you forward while the lower one will take you back. At the checkpoints take out the other teams gen to allow safe passage through it, and you will see this by a smilely face above your side instead of danger. The CnH bays you will have to work for to get to because there are no teleporters there. We hope you enjoy this new style of gameplay and if the demand is high enough, Track2 will be lush and will be more ground vehicle friendly.

ACK. Misread that post... it is the map. After reading the comment by Red down there i tried something, removing the map from the base directory and putting it elsewhere on my computer and tried to host a LAN server. It worked fine (and i finally got to test out 1st Sub War!) and i can now again REVIEW MAPS! Wooooo! Maybe you packed it wrong U.B.?

Ooook, it's not the map that did it. something else in MY (not yours) computer. Every time that _I_ try to host a LAN server or online one to test maps i get a UE now. It's not any map i have either. Reinstalling didn't work, nothing did. SO i just play maps on an online server that one of my friends hosts and then grade them later. again: NOT THE MAP.

Hmmmmmm.....Not sure what the problem
is. I deleted every file for the map
and made sure that I did. All files are in the Vl2 that you need. It might be the Pingpong script. TribalMa5ter had a problem with it bt it was do to the frames were to high so we lowered it down to 10 instead
of 21. That is the only problem that I'm aware of and that we thought it was fixed. But I know it loads, has to, people have played it and commented on it. Maybe lower the GFX on your comp could solve the UEs.
Sorry about it. I guess some comps cant handle it. Something to look into on future track maps. Again sorry for your problem.

I don't get it...I get a UE every time I try to run this one. I'm not about to reinstall though, because this is the only map I have this problem with. Could it be that I need a file for this map that isn't included in the .vl2?

Ahhhh, it arrives... I was so pissed off when i started getting UEs just after you sent this map to me for testing. I STILL haven't been able to fix the problem where i keep UEing whenever i try to host a LAN or online server... *Sniff* Not even reinstalling works! *sniff*

wow!...i mean freakin' WOW! i had hours and i mean HOURS of fun just flying around this level. doors opening, billboards...changeing to the other team to dodge turrets..all of it is just amazing..brings a whole new aspect to Tribes; just in a map. now imagine this with your favorite mod...im gonna get my mod's tribe to download this and use it as our dev map..its just too freakin cool. you two have some great ideas and skill to boot. we have another very skilled mapper(s) here. cant wait to see more from you guys. you now have a devoted fan ^_^ again, great work!

O M F GOD!!! Good GOD where to start....the terrain looks great,
bases and platforms fit the land nicley. Teleporters work perfect! Alittle confusing at first but I was able to get the hang of it. I LOVE the deep canyon feel as I'm flying around to get the the flag. And those
big billboards are awsome looking!
I love the one in the forth picture....lol. The capturable bases are cool to but a good fight to get to also. The land seems large and make you feel like you're moving slow but it's not bad at all. I crashed alot just by myself....love to see what it's like with 32 people going for the flag. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!
And track2 ya say?? cant wait. I'm hooked!

bah no bot supports mean it sucks(but thats not your fault) ;) j/k it's freakingly awsomely map but would be even nicer if I could play alone whit bots =) but even if I can't it's still awesome

I know I did not pack it wrong. The only thing I get form all the comments here, and I'm GRATFULL for is that some can play it and others it just wont work. I check and check the .vl2 file and it loads fine for me. Next track map we make wont have so much sripting in it....maybe the environmental light thing is messing with it, I dont know....Happy for some, sorry for other =).....=(

Bot will be in the next map we hope!
Only reason no bots in this was it would take forever for then to get anywhere and they would just get stuck and cause havoc for everyone.

WHOO-HOO!!! I found the problem!!!!!!
I sent it to BYTOR to fix....I hope he lets me know when and or posts a comment up here... I realy forgot to add the sky dml file. I just forgot I used a sky cause you will never see it. I AM SORRY EVERYONE. AS soon as BYTOR FIXES it I will let ya know or he will!!! =) GOD I'm DUMB! Stay tuned!

I think that the problem is with the "pingpong" script that you used with the doors,It seems that this script only works on computers that are 600-700 mhz pIII or higher .so the peolpe that have probs with this map,this maybe the answer.;)

I forgot to put in the DML file for the sky. THAT IS why it would not work. But sent it to Bytor to fix.
I have not gotten work back from him so I guess he is busy. So when the E-mail come I will all let ya know!

Yup, it isn't the pingpong.cs script for sure. i've played on a few maps (the few that utilize the script actually...) and had no problems loading. nEEed... Shrike...TracK.....

Finaly got the missing file and was able to play, and I am glad I did.The whole idea of the map is great and well thought out and deserves an A+ for the effort alone not to mention the custom shapes, sounds, textures etc. I had a blast exploring the map and going thru the gates. Loved the doors to the vbay (nice touch) Great job!!!

I did not know that was like that. No
matter does not effect game play, and you can't go through it. But As far as the map goes I dont think anyone will have ALOT of time just standing on things. Will be making a Track2 THIS time I will use a normal shy and try not to forget that. Anyway Next make will be lush and deal with more grave scouts. New dangers await!
But again thanks. just wish Bytor will fix it. I know he got my e-mail cause I was asking about skins but never sais he got the file or nothing. OH WELL. It's a first of it's kind. We came so close at making a new game type but the problem was the flags. Maybe next time! But least I did post the file up so that's something! RACE ON!

This is a race map with a purpose!
Realy great for building skill. Played this with some friends and it was a blast! I normaly dont like race maps but with the CnH bases and able to try and stop enemies from winning is a great challenge. Team work IS a must!

Well it's still up in the air. Right now were working on a couple other maps right now that should be up soon.
The first one here was a MOTHER to make. We tride to do some scripting work for it but no go. BUT good chance we will start work on it.

I love this map so much! I played it with a group of friends and it was a blast! A CTF race map. And it's intense! Terrain work is well done. LOVE the billboards you have, sounds,
teleporters work great, I can see it being hard to get used to at first, but that's what is cool about it. I hope part 2 comes out soon! And is that Jim Morrison in the billboard there? lol

I've played this map alot for a month or so and I'm sorry I never gave it a grade yet. Silly me. I love the WC work you guys did, and the creativeness you put in all the way! Cnh bases are a blast to fly through. Team work IS a must on this map. I hope you make part two very soon!
