Capture the Flag Deathmatch Other Clear Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes Night

Starscape is part of a totally new and never done before type of mission, we call it MapMod. MapMod is a self contained MOD within in a single mission. The idea behind MapMod is to have totally different games each time the mission changes. Each MapMod will be different from the others. Starscape is a flight sim set in space and has several new models including Vehicles, Mines, asteroids and bases..

Look for other MapMod missions with all new adventures soon.

This map unleashes the full power of the Map Support Package v2.0 by Founder, myself and TseTse. It was designed for use with base or base variants. I make no guarantee that it will run on any mod other then base variants such as Classic mod. Spacecraft come equipped with locking missile launchers and quad blaster cannons. You can use your "Beacon" key while looking at a spacecraft to auto mount the craft. You must be within 20 meters of the craft to be able to auto mount mount it.

Pilot controls:

1) Your "Pack" key will initiate the space crafts boosters.
2) Your "Mine" key will deploy anti-spacecraft mines.
3) Your "Grenade" key will release anti-missile flares.

Very impressive indeed, I can't wait to try it out. I'm disappointed that the skybox only fills the upper half of the screen, but this isn't your fault, just one of the engine's greatest limitations. Nevertheless, this looks like it will definitely be worth the download.

this map is awsome!!! i played it and i love the vehicles. to bad i was playing by myself cuz i wanted to duel someone so bad!!! when you look at it at a glance the map is fairly simple and easy to play. but then you notice that it took alot of scripting to get this map to where it is...good job guys. keep up the good work :)

I've noticed one significant bug. After playing this map and changing to another map, the missile HUD remains any time I board a Shrike. Even if I can't switch weapons, the missile icon persists until I restart T2.

Thanks for the kind comments. I wanted to let ya all know that you can have much nicer added effect if you enable precip in your T2 settings. It adds a type of snow that emulates stars and adds a lot to the map. You can also crank up the rest of your settings to get some great effect and it does not have much of an effect of the gameplay.

I sent Bytor an updated vl2 to address the issue Red Five. It doesn't affect anything but adding the missile icon to the Shrike so its a harmless annoyance until the vl2 is updated.

Also, the skybox does render all around, BUT since you cannot remove fog from Tribes 2 you cannot see the full box :(

Thank you for the positive comments guys :)

As far as the concept goes, its rock solid. However, the code is extremely buggy. We were playing this at the pickup, and needed to refresh the server after the match. We were constantly spawning in the vehicles, and as such being stuck in the walls. Didn't work out too well. However, cleanup issues aside, this is a good example of what tribes 2 scripting can do. Its tons of fun to fly these vehicles around. However... the vehicles, with all their "newness", don't look too good, and don't have damage effects. The blasters are too far apart for any semblance of accuracy, and the vehicles are bulky and uninteresting to control. The mines aren't too bad an idea, but the flares kinda work against even having the missiles at all. And theres just too little to do in the map... you can try to cap, or you can dogfight, nothing else. All in all, though, this is a fun map to toy around with. I'd suggest that people download it and try it themselves.

Awesome job, guys :) It’s a refreshing change from the normal game. I really love the asteroid field in the middle.

Congrats on an original idea and a successful implementation.

Although Its A Great Map With Awsome Textures And Shapes There Are Several DownSides 1 There Is Only About 4 Things you can Do, DogFight, Get The Flag, Build, Or Look At Those Awsome Textures. There Is One Bug I Found If you Do the Auto Mount If A Enemy is The Vehicle You Start Driving And the Guy That WAS Driving is now inside you. Everything Else Is Great
