As is it states in the mission load, this map is primaryily made with Meltdown Classic in mind. a little creation between myself, my buddy -Nite-, and the man, Dynablade.
This is just our little dev map for testing stuff and just having fun.
There are long underground tunnels (somewhat hidden) in the objective's cave in screen 3. the objective controls 6 mortar turrets that span the mid-field making it a bit hazardous to take the direct straight route to the bases...or, you can try and take the underground route. Careful tho, the long tunnels make it easy for snipers to keep players at bay. these tunnels are designed for medium and light armors only. juggs will not fit thru some parts of the tunnels. sorry =P each tunnel leads to right outside the enemies base. the entrance to these tunnels is gaurded by a slow field FF so that mortar spam into the tunnels is impossible. (screen 4)
each base consists of a simple powersystem that will be interesting to take out. the main base power and thus the flag room is inpenetrable without taking out the power protection grid first. this is two solar panels atop the base which can be easily taken out with a bomber (only availible in Meltdown due to deployable vehicle bays), or other wise a well placed mortar. this opens up the single generator that powers the entire base. after its destruction, the remaining forcefields go down (except the blue ones on the flag platform). the flag platform/room is a one entrance deal. get in and get out before a jugg with a mortar splatters you all over the map.
keep in mind that this map is intended for a mod and has not been tested for 'base' play. i just figured i would release this so that i could send my tribemates to a site to get it instead of emailing it to everyone =\

by Deathscythe~40 on June 20, 2002 Permalink · Rating:i just have to add that this map may not exactly be practical. i just slapped it together in a day. i tried to clean it up as much as i could before releasing it but im sure there are still bugs, but nothing so extreme that it would adversely affect gameplay. it is a work in progress i have come to notice =P ill prolly upload the update sometime with sounds and some more ambience. enjoy!
