Capture the Flag Lush Clear Client Side Custom Shapes

This map will take you back to the basics...and forward to a new level. This map introduces LinkSwitches, which allow you to select your own spawnsphere on a per player basis. The switches and their corresponding spheres are powered, making the generators a priority target on a map with no sensors or turrets. This will be my last map for Tribes 2. Take care, everyone :o).

Very Special Thanks go out to TseTse, without whom this map would have never seen completion.

Oops...fergot to mention: You will need the Dynamix Final Map Pack for the sky in this mission. I could look up the specific map that the sky was taken from, but that would require more work on my part :oP.

as usual, perfect technical work. But i seriously think this map is playable in clanwars. I'll talk about this map to the european ladder players. And erm...why do u stop T2? :(

@#$(&(&_)&(_*!&!!!!! DIDN'T SEE THAT PART ABOUT THIS BEING HIS LAST MAP!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
*ahem*
Who here thinks that Akira should get a job as a part of the new "Dynamix" that recently surfaced? He could design nearly everything! Best maps and bases ever!!!!!

by )(ypersonic on February 8, 2002 · Rating:

Um, wtf am I supposed to say, perfection? Flawless and you're by far the best map maker of the tribes2 community period, including anything the dynamix team threw together. Its a tragedy to hear you're retiring, RL isn't that important :).

by D.N.A. on February 8, 2002 · Rating:

cant grade do to past history but I agree with Iczer3 that Akira should jion or try to jion the new Dynamix
team. Hell He's got good products to show and he's got my vote!

Beautiful. I remember seeing the beta for this several months ago, and was beginning to wonder when it was going to see release. But....between Insurgence, and Hellfire, and your work on ShorelineAttack as well as the recently-released Zen (plus whatever else you were no doubt up to) it was easy to see why this gem had to wait a while to see final release.
Well, I'm glad you go this out. This is probably my favorite of your maps - that is, it's the most playable, IMO. The personal-spawn sphere is very innovative and really allows players to fulfill whatever role they want better - farmers and other base defenders will spawn close to home while offensive will chose the tower (unless they want a vehicle, that is).
Although all the custom interiors (3, right? or are those things in the water custom too?) are great, but I especially like the style of the tunnel. The curvature of it is very sophisticated in terms of vertexing (or rather, I could see how it could get messy very very fast) and the lighting added an interesting dynamic. The dark yellow lights at the top - I dunno, there was something about them that really clicked. Very top notch.
The terrain, as well, is of extremely high quality. Skiiable, and the mpb paths are very nice.
I dunno what else to say. That flag stand looked a BIT ackward, I guess, but that's the only criticism I can offer. Anyway, amazing job: good luck wherever in the industry you're headed Akira!

I love this map and all your other ones. I was wondering if I could use some of your custom made objects (like the base in this mission) for a map I'm making. I will make sure you have the credit of those buildings if I ever actually complete the map. And people dont get exided this would be my first map and im not the best mapper at all.

great map, to bad theres no servers running it that i can find. to bad that your quiting map making, i loved all your maps especialy zen

Maaaan, I still hate the fact that you're leaving us... Exellent map. I love each and every custom base you put out. Everything here is well thought out and plays extremely well. The biggest "HUH!?" area is the TWO MPBs... The idea of choosing your spawning point is very nice as people who are on defense can spawn closer to the base/flag while people on offense can spawn closer to the enemy base. The only complaint is that there are only two spots to choose from, it would have been cool if there were some CnH bases around the middle of the map that you could choose as well.

by Bartdude on February 18, 2002 · Rating:

Well there are 3 places you can choose from to spawn you know... Just look closely to the map, ther's one in the main base, one close to the main base in the froward tower, and one close to the enemy base(at the top of the map)

Excellent map. Great attention to detail and very original... I played it alone, and I think it would make an awesome map for a pub or even for competitive play!

by ungberg on February 28, 2002 · Rating:

excellent map

i am one of the biggest haters of large maps, and yet i think this one could actually be fun to play in competition, excellent custom bases

I have this map on my server. Every time it comes up everyone falls thru the ground. What gives. The server is running the Mechina Mod. Is that the problem? Any help would be great. Thanks. Dingo

by TseTse on March 12, 2002 · Rating:

Not sure what to tell you. I did a bit of testing of this map, for Akira, and I cannot explain why your server/mod is having trouble with a custom terrain. =\

by Pretend on January 9, 2003 · Rating:

This map doesn't work with the new patch and feks up the server so bad that you need to reboot the machine to get spawnspheres working even on other maps with multiple spawnspheres.
Just thought you might want to know.

by Q-Ice on January 21, 2003 · Rating:

Kudos, this map was shown in the movie Travel as part of the European competition. I know that you submitted this map long ago, but I still wanted to say gr8 job on everything, I play this map with my friends and it works like a dream. Just wondering, what is the giant almond shaped thing in the water?

by Paint it Black on June 12, 2003 · Rating:

Like every map Akira has produced, this map should definately have been added with the final patch. Amazing.

by Ensign Munro on August 18, 2003 · Rating:

There isn't a single word i can use to describe this map. the terrain is more than what was needed for an A+, and the base layout is perfect for gameplay. If anything, this should get MOTW, if it hasn't already. Flags are in a nice spot, good for defense. Phanominal job Akira.

AWESOME MAP! Love tha costom light switches, gr8 concept!(:] But there is one thing, me being a diehard seige fan and all, i think you would get a WHOLE LOT more downloads if it had bots. Ahh but thats just what i think. Over all Terrific map. Keep it up!
