Elmo T2 Arena Standard Mappack by FlyingElmo on July 23, 2001

Arena Other Clear Bots Client Side

Shoutout to all the rabid arena players ;)
Contained in this pack are 14 maps engineered specifically for T2 arena.
Each have been play tested and will hopefully be to your liking. The focus
for these maps was to create standard arena gameplay, ie nothing which would
disgruntle ladders or hardcore players greatly. Each has also been designed
with fps in mind, and players should experience smoother gameplay compared to
CTF. This pack also contains a variety of maps...with the intention being to
get away from the 2-map T1 rotation so many of us are familiar with. I'm
confident that they will do just that.

Feedback is always welcome, and if you have any comments or suggestions feel
free to get ahold of me.

Misc notes: Maps need the T2 arena mod to function as designed. It can be downloaded here: http://maps.tribalwar.com/elmo/other.html
This is only required for server administrators. Additionally, server admins may prefer to download the serverside-only pack, available at: http://maps.tribalwar.com/elmo/T2ArenaStandardServer.zip

I like some of the nice lighting effects, most shown in those screenshots. I also like the creative inventory stations. Among my favorites was the one that is named "---- That thing's hot" with the arrow pointing at a torch.

I don't know really how to rate this... Some of the maps are good, for example I really like Temple Tussel, but here's the thing: bot support. It sucks bad. On almost all of the maps, the bots just sit there and say they don't know their assignment. Hello? This DOESN'T work! I won't be hosting my server with bots. I figure the "best mapper" in Tribes 2 can do bot support. Fair to good maps, but this factor blows the pack away. If you want to play with bots, forget this pack. If not, check it out.

Excellent set of maps. There's some really inventive stuff happening in these. I want to know how you got that huge wave effect on one of them- - whip ass!

The reason I gave it an A- is the bot support on the first map. The bots all try to go outside through a shield and never approach each other. And there are a couple of places (like the misty forest map) that cause the framerate to drop dramatically. Other than those small things, outstanding maps!
