Capture the Flag Desert Clear Client Side Custom Textures Custom Shapes

Well havent released a map for a while, and my old ones weren't exactly furthering the cause of the T2 Mapper.

This one does however have some custom scripting, mainly to allow for moving sound files, as well as to counter some of the bugs in T2 by its very nature.
Thanks go to Zear for his Forcefield code, which I have tinkered with to allow you to give a name to the Physical Zone the FF creates, so you can settransform it away when the power goes down.. which stops the bug of floating mines/flags even when the FF isnt there.

Some custom models, infact they all are.. nothing groundbreaking, just my first attempts at really using WorldCraft.

Base's are heavily defended by turrets, but like Hydro-electric there is a remote generator that controls all the power of the defence systems on your side.

Inspiration for this map was really a for a faster, slightly more skiable, Katabatic with added features.

Well I guess you can download it and try it for yourselves.. hope it meets at least some approval.

Kudos. Nice medium sized map, with the full range of gameplay dynamics at work. Wonderful to see the full range of new sounds and structures brought in to articulate this vision. Great job (hope to see servers play it0.

Very well done. Skiing through this has its ups and downs (literaly), and was fun. The remote defense generators makes for some interesting tactical choices, but not sure if everyone will appreciate them. The base is well laid out with an eye for the unusual. Descend to the main generator room to see what I mean. All in all, good job.

Very interesting and stylistic map. I love the ambiance, and the gameplay is interesting too.
You've got a knack for this: keep it up.
(P.S. You might expect a review for this map soon. :P )

More kudos, cuz I didnt mention the awesome new particles you made. I would give another A+ just for that, but...

Um, map fucking rawks. A+++++++++++ and some. Two AA and one missle turret for flag is kinda harsh, otherwise perfect map with amazing worldcraft skills.

Absolutely awesome!

All elements of the environment are masterfully executed, creating one of the rarest birds in a Tribs2 map - a map that's greater than the sum of it's parts. Nevermind that the parts are pretty amazing on their own. :)

In gameplay, the flagstand is one of Malignant's best features. Tough to defend, yet it seperates the flagrunning men from the boys.

Great stuff!

It wouldn't be ethical for me to rate it as I had a fair bit of a hand in testing it for Sali as it was built. However, I can say that this is one fun map to play on! Lots of tactical options, and if you don't have vehicles, who cares - you can ski cap from just about any direction also. The Defence has always to be on guard!

Kudos on the custom work. I love the sounds and particles. The main base structure is very cool. I thought the map was alot of fun to play.
The reason for the B is that I found that the terrain was a bit too rough to really be skier friendly and the defense gen structure seemed to be easily campable by either the offense or defense.

Hi.
Well you must love desert textures, but let me tell you that this is the most realystic map i have ever seen in the matter of the mix between skie and ground, the the last person that posted a comment the landing and skying is not the perfect one but i doesnt matter you diserve a A+, if this map is not the best is surley one of the best map i have ever seen, congratulations!!!
Keep up the Go(o)d work , because i will be here to download them;P

Nice Map. Excellent skybox. good idea with the particles on the powerhouses. I'm impressed, expecially since this was your first time with prefabs. I did see a few places in your prefabs where you could of selected a better textures. And I did see a place where thier was no texture. I'm not sure if you did it intentionally or not. But other then that, it's a good map. And that's big coming from me.

My score is based on the eyecandy, enviorment, and buildings/customizations. Not Gameplay

Nice work Sal. I'm being tough on you here because I know you can take it. :)

The terrain is excellent and the atmosphere of the map, augmented by the custom architecture and audio and sky goes a long way. I like the distances between bases and the turret arrangements...makes for a nice T2 style vehicle map.

I think, however, that you need to be more patient with your texturing work.

In general, I like how you've made big strides toward releasing "total package" type work, and you've shown you're not afraid to push yourself. You've also shown you're very capable at creating unique game worlds. I hope you continue to hone your talents.

Thanks alot guys, for all the response, and to T2 Maps for making it Map of the Week. All of you who have played it have probably noticed modelling/texture errors on the "mushroom" Gen tower. Unfortunately I was aware of this even before release. When creating the structure I used WorldCraft's Carve tool before learning it was a BAD idea, it left edges unaligned. Anyhow to cut a long story short but I made a serious mistake in saving out the model in World Craft and the one in this map is the last version I had that compiled properly, without having to rebuild it completely. Apologies for my laziness, it is however entirely functional as a building despite its errors, and I guess its about gameplay rather than pretty features in the end.

Again thanks alot for all your support, when I have time I hopefully can get another map out in the nearish future, with more experience under my belt!

All I can say is that the map is fun. It really is just a fast paced, action filled map. Keep up the good work.

PS:It's fun for Construction mod too
